What is cellulite treatment?

Did you know that cellulite affects 80% of all women? Dimpled skin can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. Now Millennium Podiatry offers Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment® (EPAT®) for safe and noninvasive cellulite removal. It can also treat unwanted conditions like plantar fasciitis and bursitis.

EPAT works by relaxing the connective tissues that create cellulite while also firming the skin. It also encourages new collagen production to strengthen the dermis and epidermis. This provides a long-last improvement in skin tone and texture. Learn about EPAT by calling to meet with Dr. Everett Lautin in New York City, NY. We can help you achieve beautiful and healthy skin again!

Who is a candidate for cellulite treatment?

Candidates for cellulite treatment have dimpled skin and have not seen success with traditional over-the-counter methods. Dr. Lautin will evaluate your medical history and skin to determine if you are a candidate for EPAT. Ideal candidates should understand that this is not a weight-loss solution and may not prevent new cellulite from forming in the future.

Millennium Podiatry may also recommend EPAT for the following conditions:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Bursitis
  • Tibialis anterior syndrome
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Bone non-unions
  • Heel spurs
  • Hallux limitus
  • Various chronic enteropathies (painful irritation of tendon attachments due to overexertion or a degenerative condition)
  • Various sports injuries
  • Painful trigger points (due to shortened and thickened muscle tissue)

What happens during cellulite treatment?

Dr. Lautin begins Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment by applying a gel on the treatment area(s), then moving a simple applicator in circular motions over the skin. EPAT treatment sessions last about 15 minutes and do not require incisions or other invasive methods. Most patients require three sessions performed at weekly intervals to achieve their desired results. Patients see some results immediately, but it may take up to four weeks before your outcomes become apparent.

How long is recovery after cellulite treatment?

Millennium Podiatry can provide detailed post-procedure instructions, but side effects are usually mild and resolve quickly. You may experience some tenderness, redness, swelling, or bruising, which should improve within a few days. Dr. Lautin can recommend over-the-counter pain medication to manage any discomfort you may feel.

In an EPAT pilot study, 91% of patients said they would recommend this treatment to other patients. Ask to see before and after photos of patients who received EPAT at our office!
